- thinly sliced pork loin200 g
- firm tofu1 block (300 g)
- water100 ml
- green onion4 stalks
☆ Seasonings
- sake1 tablespoon
- mirin1 tablespoon
- sugar½ tablespoon
- soy sauce1 ½ tablespoons
- grated ginger½ teaspoon

Put the seasonings marked with ☆ in a bowl and mix. Add the pork and toss to coat.

Trim off the root ends of the green onions and cut them into 1 1/4-inch (3 cm) lengths.

Tear the tofu into bite-size pieces with your hands and place it in a frying pan. Arrange the pork from step 1 over the tofu along with the seasonings, add the water, and bring to a boil over medium heat. Cover and simmer over low heat for 8 minutes.

Add the green onions, cover, and simmer over low heat for about 1 minute.

Serve on a plate or in a bowl.
Note:
If you like, sprinkle with shichimi chili pepper before serving.
