Prep the green beans by washing them in water and patting them dry. Arrange the beans with their stem ends aligned, then trim a little off.
Note:
If the green beans have strings, remove them.

Bring a pot of water to a boil and add salt (not included in the ingredient list, as needed). Add the green beans and boil for about 2 to 3 minutes, until bright green.
Note:
A salt concentration of about 2% of the water volume is a good guideline. Adjust the boiling time depending on the thickness of the green beans.
