Time

approx. 15mins

Why not try a spicy, tongue-tingling bowl of soupless tantanmen to beat the summer heat? The aroma of sesame oil really whets your appetite. The noodles are rinsed in cold water, so this dish is easy to enjoy even in hot weather. If you like, add extra nerigoma (sesame paste) or zhimajiang (Chinese sesame paste) for a richer flavor. It can be hard to dissolve, so if you add it, be sure to mix it in well.

Since my family eats at different times, I set it up like this. It was delicious.

I think this would work well not just with Chinese noodles, but also with pasta or udon. I’ll try making it next time ^_^

It was absolutely delicious!! I've made it many times. The nice kick of heat is really great ✨️

Easy and delicious—one of those recipes you’ll want to make again and again. I always use more than the specified amounts of ginger, garlic, and onion! (At least 1 clove each of ginger and garlic, and 1/4 onion.) Since I’m not good with spicy food, I use half the amount of chili oil.)

I wanted to get my kids to eat more vegetables, so I added finely chopped shiitake mushrooms and garlic chives. I also didn’t have the chili oil for the sauce, so I mixed a little doubanjiang into the meat miso instead. I thought it might take more work, but it was easy since I only had to stir-fry it! And it was delicious! My family loved it. I’ll definitely make it again 👍

The sesame dressing and meat miso make this exceptionally delicious!! It’s the perfect noodle dish for summer 😁

Anyway, the flavor was incredibly good. I think it was the third most delicious noodle dish among Delish Kitchen’s noodle recipes. I actually wanted to add sesame paste, but the supermarket didn’t have any, so I made it the regular way, and it was still unbelievably delicious!! I heard it has very high ratings, and I can see why (*^^*)

I made enough meat miso for 3 servings, so I adjusted the seasonings as I went, tasting and adding more as needed. I was short on tianmianjiang, so I added some shantan 👌🏻 I thought, "Onion in meat miso? 🤔🧅" so I used green onion instead 🙆‍♀️ Actually, I also added some finely chopped bean sprouts to bulk it up 😜 It didn’t feel out of place at all—in a good way, you could hardly tell they were there 😘 The noodles were absolutely delicious with the sauce mixed in and topped with the meat miso 😜

1 serving Noodles: 240 g Mixed ground meat: 100 g ← season with a little salt Use double the noodle sauce ← add oyster sauce Everything else stays the same amount. This is a larger portion, seasoned a bit more strongly for people who like bold flavors. Since warm noodles were preferred, I microwaved them after plating and just before eating. About 2 minutes made them slightly warm. It was well received!
