Fill a pot with enough water to fully cover the eggs and bring to a boil.

Place the cold eggs straight from the refrigerator on a ladle or similar utensil, then gently slide them into the bottom of the pot. Keep the water at a gentle boil and cook over medium heat for 7 to 8 minutes.
Note:
Eggs straight from the refrigerator are more likely to crack when added to boiling water, so place them on a ladle or similar utensil and lower them in gently. If you want the yolks even runnier, cook them for 6 to 7 minutes.
