Ingredients may vary by product and region. If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions, please review all ingredient labels carefully before cooking. Consult your doctor or a registered dietitian if you have any health concerns.

Instructions

1

Season the beef with salt and pepper, then coat it with cake flour.

2

Thinly slice the onion. Trim off the base of the mushrooms and slice them into 5 mm pieces.

Note:

If the mushrooms are dirty, gently wipe them with a damp paper towel. Cutting them slightly thick helps keep their texture and makes the dish even more delicious.

3

Heat the butter in a frying pan. Add the onion and cook over medium heat until softened. Add the beef and cook until the color changes.

4

Add the mushrooms and stir-fry.

5

Add the consomme to the pan and mix quickly. Add the white wine and cook over medium heat for about 2 minutes until the alcohol evaporates.

6

Add the ingredients marked with ☆ to the pan and mix. Once it comes to a boil, reduce to low heat and simmer for 10 minutes until thickened.

Note:

Taste and, if it needs more salt, adjust the seasoning with a pinch of salt and pepper.

7

Serve on a plate and sprinkle with parsley if you like.

I didn’t have any sour cream, so I mixed 50 cc of heavy cream with 5–6 cc of lemon juice as a substitute. I also used a little more salt and consomme than the recipe called for, and that turned out to be the right choice. It gave the dish a rich, full-bodied flavor, and it was absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely make it again.

I didn’t have any sour cream, so I added a small amount of yogurt.

It was easy, but I was able to make an authentic stroganoff (^_^). It was very delicious served with rice mixed with fresh parsley. I recommend slicing the mushrooms on the thicker side.

My husband requested beef stroganoff, so I used this recipe as a reference because it looked delicious. Since it was for 4 servings, I doubled all the ingredients and seasonings, followed the recipe as written, and served it with potatoes as well. The mellow richness of the heavy cream and the subtle tang of the sour cream were an exquisite combination, and my whole family loved it. There was even enough left over that my child wanted to take some in a lunch box. My family likes pork, so next time I’m thinking of making it with pork loin cut for tonkatsu, sliced into thin strips.

The cream and salty flavor go perfectly together and taste delicious 😋🍴💕 It’s even better if you use a good salt ❗

I felt a real sense of accomplishment being able to make white beef stroganoff myself. Sour cream was sold out, so I substituted strained yogurt instead. It turned out delicious.

Second time: I made this again by request. I used the wine as written and 400 g of beef, just regular thin-sliced pieces, and followed the stated amounts including the wine (since I doubled the meat, I doubled the seasonings too). I didn’t have enough heavy cream, so I substituted 80 ml milk plus 20 g butter. I personally felt the flavor was a bit too rich and heavy, but my family loved it and said it went very well with rice. Next time, after checking how fatty the beef is, I may use a little less butter. First time: I made this because my family requested it. I had some leftover white wine, so I added about twice the amount written. The aroma and acidity remained and it was delicious. I couldn’t buy heavy cream in exactly the right amount, so I substituted milk and extra butter instead. I bought fresh mushrooms rather than canned ones. Maybe because I used Japanese black wagyu beef, it was a huge hit with my family.

It turned out delicious without taking much effort 🍳✨ After I added salt and pepper, it tasted a little too salty, so next time I’d like to make it with consomme, white wine, and lemon juice.

It was easy and delicious! For the sour cream, I followed other reviewers' suggestions and made it by adding lemon juice to heavy cream and mixing it thoroughly.
